The Bears finally get on the scoreboard, but fall in MEAC Opener

The Bears entered this contest being held scoreless in three games and being outscored by their opponents 101-0. The Bears were finally able to get on the scoreboard, but lost to A&T 49-17. “The monkey is essentially off those guys back but the monkey is still there because we’re not scoring enough points to win,” said Bears head Coach Fred T. The Bears lose big to Rutgers, while looking ahead to MEAC Schedule

by Ty’Rique Sims, Assistant Sports EditorFor the third straight game the Morgan State Bears were held scoreless, as the Rutgers Scarlet Knights defeated the Bears, 65-0 Saturday afternoon at High Point Solutions Stadium. This Big Ten-MEAC clash marked the final non-conference game for the Bears, as they open conference play next week. Coming into this game, Bears head Coach Fred T. Farrier benched starting quarterback Elijah Staley for the first quarter due to an internal disciplinary issue. Sophomore quarterback DeAndre Harris took the start.
