Theatre Morgan takes a revolutionary look to present day issues

Jazmine Hawes, Contributing WriterMorgan State University’s theater department presented an evening of one-acts in the play the “Dutchman & The Last Revolutionary” this past weekend. The play was directed by former The Wire actor and current Morgan professor Philip Royston Burgess and written by Leroi Jones, Imamu Amiri Baraka and Levy Lee Simon. Morgan students Juwan Hensley and Aaron Miller, and Towson senior Kathleen Whitney played the main characters. Classic film hits the stage at Murphy Fine Arts Center

Jazmine Hawes and Khalia Patterson“Love Jones: The Musical” brought together an all-star cast to wow the audience with a modern rendition of a 90’s classic in the Murphy Fine Arts Center this past weekend. MC Lyte and “Love Jones” writer and director Theodore Witcher assembled a crew of notable R&B stars to appear in the musical, including Chrisette Michele, Musiq Soulchild, Marsha Ambrosius, Raheem DeVaughn and Dave Hollister.
