The Morgan State Men’s basketball team were riding a three game losing streak, before their Dec. 9 loss at Manhattan College. The Bears were on the road for those three games but the Bears didn’t have to travel far as all the games fell in the DMV area. The Bears losses had a point differential of seven, seven and five. Those points could have been made up if their leading scorer from a year ago in Tiwian Kendley were in the lineup. […]

Morgan State chemistry professor releases statement in response to viral videos labeling him a racist

by Akira Kyles, Managing EditorA Morgan State University chemistry professor released a statement clearing his name after three social media videos by his son circulated, depicting him as a racist. In his statement, released Tuesday on Morgan State’s official Twitter page, Mohammad Hokmabadi, Ph.D., associate professor in the chemistry department said that what happened in the videos was a “personal, private matter.” The videos did not show the face of Hokmabadi nor his son but the conversation between them could be heard. The team that suited up in the season finale was a completely different team that suited up in the first week. Morgan State bookstore management falls under Barnes and Noble

by Penelope Blackwell, Campus News EditorSeven weeks after it was set to open, Barnes and Noble will officially outsource and manage the Morgan State University bookstore on Nov. 20. New management was delayed due to the university not being ready. “Barnes and Noble will take over the bookstore in mid-November. This may shift to January in the spring semester, we are not sure. Lady Bears Basketball post 2-1 record through first three games

The team is led by senior guard Braennan Farrar and senior forward Tykayrah Williams. Both Farrar and Williams were selected to the preseason All-MEAC teams. The Lady Bears roster this season is a lot different than last year’s. With the departures of Zuri White, Chelsea Mitchell, Jayde Duncan and Ivy Harrington, head coach Edward Davis signed new additions to the team.
