Lady Bears Basketball post 2-1 record through first three games

The team is led by senior guard Braennan Farrar and senior forward Tykayrah Williams. Both Farrar and Williams were selected to the preseason All-MEAC teams. The Lady Bears roster this season is a lot different than last year’s. With the departures of Zuri White, Chelsea Mitchell, Jayde Duncan and Ivy Harrington, head coach Edward Davis signed new additions to the team. Ty’Rique SimsFor the fifth time this season, Morgan State University Lady Bears’ junior pitcher Amy Begg was named Pitcher of The Week in the MEAC in earlier this month. Begg was recognized for pitching a total of 26.1 innings in five games, while giving up zero runs and striking out 24. She had an ERA of 0.00 against Mount St. Mary’s, UMBC and Norfolk State and held a 15-5 record after the Norfolk Series at the time. Murray Field. “We played hard and played through each inning together. The Lady Bears opened the front end of the games with a 50-43 win, lead by junior Breannan Farrar’s 17 points. Savannah State held a four point lead at the halftime mark, holding Morgan to a 22 percent shooting performance which included 0-7 from beyond the three-point line.
