by Benjamin McKnight III, Editor-In-ChiefWith less than a year until Morgan State University celebrates its sesquicentennial, the National Trust for Historic Preservation declared the univesity a national treasure. The National Trust, chartered by congress in 1949, is a nonprofit organization that works to preserve historic buildings and landmarks across the nation. Former MSU student arrested in February stabbing death

by The MSU Spokesman StaffBaltimore City police arrested a former Morgan State University student Thursday in connection with the Feb. 1 stabbing of Gerald Williams, charging Harry Malik Robertson with first and second-degree murder. Robertson, a Suitland High School graduate, is expected to face a bail hearing Friday. According to Morgan spokesperson Larry Jones, his last known enrollment at Morgan was in the fall semester of 2014. After his one known semester at Morgan, Robertson, 20, from Bowie transferred to Coppin State University. President Wilson Updates Morgan About HBCU Equity Lawsuit

by Devon AshbyMorgan State University president David Wilson held a town hall meeting Thursday morning in the Student Center Theatre and spoke about a current lawsuit between the state and four black institutions. The lawsuit was filed 2006 by a coalition of alumni from Morgan State, Bowie State University, Coppin State University and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore looking to end the underfunding of black colleges by the state and put a stop to the duplication of academic programs.
