Lady Bears winning streak snapped at home

by Ty’Rique Sims, Staff WriterThe Lady Bears basketball team saw their five-game winning streak come to an end Saturday, as they lost 71-58 to the Lady Pirates of Hampton University at Hill Field House. Hampton (15-12, 9-5 MEAC) improved to 31-11 all-time against Morgan State and has now won 13 straight against the Lady Bears. The win also ended a three-game losing skid for the Lady Pirates, while stopping a four-game home court winning streak by the Lady Bears. Lady Bears collect first season win against Hampton

Stephen-Michael Thompson Jr., Contributing WriterAfter a winless non-conference performance in the first month of the season, the Morgan State University Lady Bears opened MEAC play earning their first season win against the Hampton University Lady Friday evening, 3-1. “It speaks volumes to our conference,” said senior Haley McClure. “Everyone is watching us and wants to see how the team is doing.” The visiting Lady Pirates handedly won the first game with a score of 25-13.
