Details of Gerald Williams’ death arise prior to suspect’s hearing

The Spokesman StaffAfter a nearly two month investigation, a suspect was arrested in the fatal stabbing of Morgan State University student Gerald Williams on February 1. The suspect, Harry Malik Robertson of Bowie, was arrested on March 31 in Prince George’s County, and will face a preliminary hearing Tuesday at Baltimore District Court. At the hearing, it’s expected that Robertson will offer a plea to charges of first and second degree murder as well as a lesser charge of possession of a dangerous weapon with the intent to injure. A detailed email from president David Wilson on Friday evening highlighted new security measures in Morgan View, where junior Gerald Williams died from stab wounds during an altercation on Feb. 1. Funeral for Gerald Williams attracted hundreds

By Ahjahnae LaQuer The weather on the morning of Feb. 11 was frigid cold and windy. However, instead of keeping warm inside the comfort of their own homes, Joneé Brown and Gerald Williams were on their way to say their final goodbyes to their 20 year-old son, Gerald Ronald Williams. The funeral was held at Reid Temple AME Church, which is home to 8,000 church members, 300 choir members, and a sanctuary built to hold 3,000 people. Student Safety Concerns Reach the Board of Regents

Akira Kyles, Staff WriterOn Tuesday morning, grieving Morgan State students were allowed to address safety concerns at a board of regents meeting after the death of Gerald Williams. Williams, 20, a Multi-platform Production major, was stabbed in Morgan View on Monday evening during an altercation. Senior Speech major Chinedu Nwokeafor tried to save Williams’s life but was unsuccessful.
