Students raise concerns of safety following recent nearby shootings

Devon Ashby, Staff WriterAfter two shootings occurred within days of one another at the BP gas station in Northwood Plaza, Morgan State University’s police department instituted extra safety measures to satisfy the concerns of students. Recent crimes in Northwood catch attention of Morgan State police

by Tramon Lucas, Managing Editor After the noticeable increase of violent crime in the Northwood Shopping Center, the Morgan State University Police Department urges students, faculty and staff to stay away from the BP gas station until improvements are made in the security. In an email sent to the university on Sunday, the MSUPD warned the Morgan community to be aware of their surroundings during travel to and from campus, especially for those who live in the Marble Hall Gardens Apartments.
