MSU’s SGJC welcomes Gisela Arandia Covarrubias

By Akira KylesThe School of Global Journalism & Communication at Morgan State University welcomed Gisela Arandia Covarrubias, scholar and journalist, to speak to the journalism students on race relations and her experiences in Cuba. Covarrubias speaks internationally about her experiences with Afro-Cubans after the Revolution. Her studies focus on the relationship between Afro-Cubans and African-Americans. Covarrubias visited MSU to not only share her studies but also to share stories about herself as an Afro-Cuban.
