The Lady Bears opened the front end of the games with a 50-43 win, lead by junior Breannan Farrar’s 17 points. Savannah State held a four point lead at the halftime mark, holding Morgan to a 22 percent shooting performance which included 0-7 from beyond the three-point line. Stephen-Michael Thomas, Staff WriterAfter a typically tough non-conference schedule, the Morgan State University Bears have been clicking on all cylinders to win seven of their last eight games en route to a first-place ranking in the conference. North Carolina Central University visited Morgan on Saturday looking to overtake the Bears atop the MEAC standings, and did just that with a 68-60 victory. Devon Ashby, Staff WriterAfter having a 13-point lead diminish one in the final two minutes of Tuesday’s game, Morgan State University’s men’s basketball team headed to the free-throw line needing two points and a defensive stop to win the game. Freshman Stanley Nelson missed the front end of his two free throws and, with four seconds left, High Point University sophomore Anthony Lindauer got open and hit a three-pointer as time expired to give the Panthers a 62-61 win. Ty’Rique Sims, Staff WriterMorgan State University’s football could not get it done in their final home game of the season as they were defeated 41-10 by the Bethune-Cookman University Wildcats. Both the Bears and Wildcats entered the game with identical 2-5 records, but BCU proved to be the better team. The Wildcats got off to a quick start with a 69-yard drive on the opening possession that was capped off by a 23-yard field goal by sophomore kicker Uriel Hernandez field.
