In wake of the Housing Waitlist Issue, temporary housing goes into effect at nearby hotel

by Akira Kyles, Managing EditorTemporary housing has been activated for about 70 female students as Morgan State University negotiated rooms at the Radisson hotel four miles from the main campus in the wake of the housing waitlist issue.  This semester, MSU has seen an increase in enrollment and have overbooked their dorms leaving students without a room on campus. This has left students and parents frustrated about how something like this could happen. By Akira KylesThe School of Global Journalism & Communication at Morgan State University welcomed Gisela Arandia Covarrubias, scholar and journalist, to speak to the journalism students on race relations and her experiences in Cuba. Covarrubias speaks internationally about her experiences with Afro-Cubans after the Revolution. Her studies focus on the relationship between Afro-Cubans and African-Americans. Covarrubias visited MSU to not only share her studies but also to share stories about herself as an Afro-Cuban.
