After being picked to finish ninth in the preseason poll, the Wildcats have been one of the surprise teams of the conference, currently sitting in third place (10-3). The Bears (6-7) kept the game close, but in the end fell in overtime 97-94. This game featured 17 lead changes and neither team had a lead more than seven points. A preview of ‘The Battle for Greater Baltimore’: Morgan State vs. Towson University

by Ty’Rique Sims, Assistant Sports Editor The Morgan State Bears and the Towson University Tigers will renew their rivalry Saturday Sept. 2 in what is being called ‘The Battle for Greater Baltimore.’ The two Baltimore area programs announced in a press conference July 6 that a home-to-home series will be played this year and in 2018. Present at the mid-summer presser were Towson’s Director of Athletics Tim Leonard and head Coach Rob Ambrose and Morgan’s Director of Athletics Edward Scott and head Coach Fred T. Farrier.
