Mfume’s role as Miss Morgan was to serve as a representative for the students at the University. In this role, Mfume carried the title and the image of the University with much respect in academic and personal appearances. MSU administration gives an update on the housing issue

by Akira Kyles, Managing EditorMorgan State University’s housing administration are moving the waitlisted students that have been lodging at a nearby hotel into dorms on campus. On Aug. 27, about 70 female Morgan State students had been moved into a Radisson hotel four miles from campus. Most of the students were part of the summer bridge program Center for Academic Success and Achievement (CASA). The housing administration made a 60-day commitment with the Radisson Hotel on Falls Road, which ends on Oct. 26. The station, which started in 1977, unveiled a new lineup of programs, which officially started on Oct 2.. The new shows include “Mornings with Mykel” from 6-10 a.m. on weekdays and “For the Culture,” hosted by Farajii Muhammed from 5-7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Most people would not walk that distance let alone, try to run it. This is what senior cross-country runner Karen Escobedo does every weekend in under twenty minutes. Escobedo has been the anchor for the women’s cross country team since her freshman year. She has won multiple athlete of the week awards, including one this season when she won the Delaware State Invitational by 15 seconds, setting this season’s fastest time.
