Bears Dominate CIAA Opponent Bowie

By Christian RogersThe Morgan State Bears defeated the Bowie Bulldogs 28-3 in the first home game of the season. The first half got off to a slow start with Morgan not scoring a single point and Bowie leading by 3 at the end of the half. The second half was completely dominated by the Bears, who scored 28 points. All of the 28 points came from rushing touchdowns. Autopsy Rules Heatstroke Cause of Death for Morgan Football Player

An autopsy report released today revealed that Morgan State football player Marquese Meadow died from a heat stroke. Meadow, an 18-year-old incoming freshman and DC native, died on Aug. 24 at Johns Hopkins Hospital. “Marquese was a great young man and member of this family who was highly respected and loved by his teammates and coaching staff,” said Morgan State head football coach Lee Hull. “He was an unselfish kid and had an incredibly bright future and will be deeply missed.” Hull, newly appointed as Morgan’s football coach on Jan. 9, spent the past six years (2008-2013) as the wide […]

Morgan State University Releases Statement for Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. Chapter

Yesterday Morgan State University released a press statement that confirmed the Alpha Iota Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. would be on probation until Fall 2015. The state reads,“The Alpha Iota chapter of Kappa Alpha has been determined to have violated certain university regulations, procedures and policies,” the statement reads.  “As a result, the chapter has been placed on disciplinary probation until fall 2015. During the probationary period, the chapter cannot register as an official organization or student group with the university. After an unsuccessful 2012 season the Bears look to turn a new leaf this year, but unfortunately this is easier said than done. The football team is still winless after their fourth loss on Saturday, September 28 to the Norfolk State Spartans.
