Interim Coach assumes full-time position as head football coach

Farrier will assume the full-time position as the head football coach for the MSU Bears. Farrier joined the Bears in 2014 as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He replaced former head coach Lee Hull, who became the wide receivers coach for the Indianapolis Colts. Hull in two seasons as the Bears head coach had a combined 11-12 overall record and a 10-6 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference record. Lady Bears fall short to Howard in Volleyball

by Stephen-Michael Thompson Jr., Contributing Writer After a two-game winning streak, the Morgan State University Lady Bears lost their MEAC conference matchup against the Howard Bison Thursday Evening, 3-0 “We could’ve played harder, definitely could’ve taken the W,” said junior Keana Browne. The Bison decisively won the first set with a score of 25-12 due to a wide of array of Lady Bear errors. Those same errors held the Lady Bears back as Howard won the second set with a score of 25-11. Women’s basketball coach relieved of duties

Katia Jordan, Contributing WriterMorgan State University has reassigned Donald Beasley, the head coach of the women’s basketball team, to a new position at within the school, according to athletic director Floyd Kerr. “Coach Beasley will be reassigned within the University to work in marketing and development,” said Kerr, who is retiring at the end of this month. Kerr declined to say why Beasley was relieved as head coach, citing school policy. Beasley was placed on administrative leave and subsequently reassigned following a June 14 Baltimore Sun story where current and former players alleged verbal abuse from Beasley. Interim Athletic Director Appointed

Campus president David Wilson announced on Monday that Erlease Wagner will serve in the position while the school continues to search for candidates to hold the permanent position. The transition will be effective on July 1, immediately after outgoing athletic director Floyd Kerr’s final day.
