Ty’Rique SimsFor the fifth time this season, Morgan State University Lady Bears’ junior pitcher Amy Begg was named Pitcher of The Week in the MEAC in earlier this month. Begg was recognized for pitching a total of 26.1 innings in five games, while giving up zero runs and striking out 24. She had an ERA of 0.00 against Mount St. Mary’s, UMBC and Norfolk State and held a 15-5 record after the Norfolk Series at the time. Murray Field. “We played hard and played through each inning together. The chance of a lifetime and a lasting impact for Morgan women’s basketball

Ty’Rique Sims, Staff WriterWhen the Lady Bears Traveled to the University of Richmond for a non-conference match-up earlier this season, they would lose their fourth straight game and hold a 2-10 record on the young season. Many frustrations, confusion and doubts but the Lady Bears still had something to celebrate. Junior guard Braennan Farrar scored her 1,000 career points. Farrar scored on a lay-up in the game against the Spiders solidifying her as the 14th player in Morgan State women’s basketball history to reach the milestone. Men’s basketball looks to translate regular season success at MEAC Tournament

Hundreds of teams will compete in their conference tournaments to secure a spot in the big dance, the NCAA Basketball Tournament. When the Morgan State University men’s basketball team started this season, expectations were relatively low. They were only picked to be tenth in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference’s (MEAC) pre-season poll, but this year’s team had much higher goals than that. Bears end senior night with season sweep of Eagles
