Students raise concerns of safety following recent nearby shootings

Recent crimes in Northwood catch attention of Morgan State police

by Tramon Lucas, Managing Editor After the noticeable increase of violent crime in the Northwood Shopping Center, the Morgan State University Police Department urges students, faculty and staff to stay away from the BP gas station until improvements are made in the security. Details of Gerald Williams’ death arise prior to suspect’s hearing

The Spokesman StaffAfter a nearly two month investigation, a suspect was arrested in the fatal stabbing of Morgan State University student Gerald Williams on February 1. The suspect, Harry Malik Robertson of Bowie, was arrested on March 31 in Prince George’s County, and will face a preliminary hearing Tuesday at Baltimore District Court. At the hearing, it’s expected that Robertson will offer a plea to charges of first and second degree murder as well as a lesser charge of possession of a dangerous weapon with the intent to injure. Harry Malik Robertson, 20, of the 2200 block of Forest Glade Lane in Suitland, MD was denied bail early Friday during a hearing in Baltimore City District Court. Robertson, himself a former Morgan student was arrested Thursday in Prince Georges County late Wednesday.
