Lee Thompson, a Computer Engineering major by way of Prince George's County, named "Dope Love" by Gucci Mane as his jam for the summer. "Gucci is my favorite artist, and when he came out with 'Traphouse 4,' I was vibin[g] to it," Thompson proclaimed. "He speaks real stuff in his music and people sleep on him." He also added in "Worst Enemy" by the same artists, relating closely to the song's message that "You can be your own best friend an your worst enemy." > > Sjonya Scott, a Civil Engineer hailing from Columbia, Maryland, nominated "Stay With Me" by Sam Smith featuring Mary J. Blige as her summer jam, stating that it "kept me moving during the summer. It reminded me of my friends and staying close to those loyal to me."

Jaquetta Lawson, a freshman Creative Writing major from Baltimore, Md., says her favorite summer jam was "Really Don't Care" by Demi Lovato.  "It defined my summer," she says. "I felt encouraged by this song dealing with heartbreak and judgmental people."
